Function / Content

This series consists of an annotated reference copy of a photograph album relating to the Curnock family and Darwin, Kakadu, Howard Creek, and Myilly Point. Included are postcards, invitations, a ship's menu, and images of the AWA (Amalgamated Wireless Australia) station before and after the 1942 air raid on Darwin, an Aboriginal burial ceremony at Mindil Beach, the Curnock children in fancy dress costumes, and family life including picnics, visits to neighbours, and fishing and hunting trips. The pages have been numbered to reflect the original order of the album. A digitised copy of the photographs is available in NTRS 2590.
